Why are you passionate about newborn care?
There is nothing more beautiful and rewarding than to be able to care for a newborn. To have the honor to help care for innocent and loving babies growing each day is something that I will always cherish. The bonds that i make with these families is something I hold close to my heart. As a mother, nothing is more fufilling than to be needed and depended on. So even as my own children continue to grow more independent, I have the blessing to help more babies and will always feel like I’m needed somewhere.
What is the greatest compliment you’ve received?
“I dont think we could’ve gotten through any of this without you, you’re our baby whisperer and you have such an amazing gift.”
What do you enjoy about working with new families?
There’s always a new set of butterflies because there’s never a family that is exactly the same. There’s always new lessons to be taught and bonds to be made.
Let’s talk newborns: what is your favorite part about caring for newborns?
Definitely that midnight snuggle session during our nightime feedings. Just knowing that i can help comfort them and help them feel safe as they transition into their new world.
What is next for you? Are you preparing for a new certification or training event?
In April I will be attending a breastfeeding support counselor and educator course. I also will be working on getting certified as a birthing and postpartum doula.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
Im actually a very quiet and shy person but once i start talking about babies I light up and then you cant get me to stop
