Why are you passionate about newborn care?
After taking my maternity clinicals in nursing school I fell in love with mamas and babies. Leading me to become a birth doula a few years after. This passion has lead me to want to know about the maternity spectrum from pregnancy to postpartum so that I can become more well rounded for not only myself but my clients.
What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received from a client?
The greatest compliment I’ve ever received was a mom that told me she couldn’t have made it without me. It was like we were meant to be with each other at the same place at the same time. I helped me realize my space in the maternity world and how what we do in every aspect of a moms life changing moments is so needed.
What do you enjoy about working with new families?
Being able to learn new tricks and ideas that I may have never thought about and to have real life experience in the birth world to add onto my previous and current knowledge.
Let’s talk newborns: what is your favorite part about caring for newborns?
Seeing them give that slight smile especially when there sleeping.
What is next for you? Are you preparing for a new certification or training event?
I am preparing to apply to midwifery school so that I can travel the world as a midwife and create maternal care centers across the world. Helping mamas with pregnancy, birth, lactation, and newborn specialist care so that they can feel supported throughout every spectrum of maternity and not just get tagged teamed in by another once trust has been established.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I am a shameless pizza fanatic. I think it’s more for the symbolism that regardless of who you are in the world what you look like what language you speak. There is a general love for pizza. Pizza has the capability of bringing love and I really dig that. Pizza for 2020. Lol
